Assesing the impact of the European Critical Raw Materials will be one of the main goals of The Scrreen Symposium which will be held on March 30th in Ljjubljana, Slovenia. The full-day event dedicated to key presentations and debates will tackle the current and anticipated demand and supply of essential raw materials, the various value chains, the associated environmental, social aspects, technology gaps, innovation potential, challenges and opportunities facing the raw materials sector. International experts will attend the event to discuss a wide range of main topics and  collaborative projects.

The Symposium is organised by the SCRREEN project which has developed a large expert network that actively contributes to updating and harmonizing the raw materials factsheets and to support the European Commission in the criticality assessment, by organizing various expert workshops and developing a specific relational database for CRM.

The European SCRREEN network gathers today expertise on primary and secondary resources; production, including exploration, mining, processing, recycling and refining; substitution of CRM; raw materials markets; future demand and supply; materials flows; socio-economic analysis. It covers also strategic value chains and end-use sectors, including batteries, e-mobility, renewable energy, electronics, defence and aerospace.
