Workshop “Circular Economy for SDGs – Creating a Circular European Value Network for Traction Batteries” - Recording available

More than 2,400 participants from 64 countries with one common mission came together at the European Forum on Science & Education for Sustainability (EFSES) on 6 October 2020. If you were not able to attend the Forum or would like to rewatch some of it, you can now find the recording of the event online. The video provides interesting insights into how we can shape an innovative and sustainable Europe through research and education. The recording is divided into sections so that you can easily skip to the parts that interest you most.

The next step will be the publication of the conference paper, which is now being drafted based on the results of the conference workshops. We will be happy to send you your digital copy once the paper is completed. The paper will also be published on the BMBF EFSES website.

Within the framework of the “European Forum on Science & Education for Sustainability 2020”, will be held the workshop “Circular Economy for SDGs – Creating a Circular European Value Network for Traction Batteries” . Workshop leaders are Bernd Schäfer, CEO and Managing Director of EIT RawMaterials and Vera Susanne Rotter, Head of the Department of Circular-Economy and Recycling Technology at Technical University of Berlin. The workshop results regarding the needed transformation to a Circular Economy and your suggestions on how to enhance the impact will be published in a short conference paper, which will be delivered to the European Commission in order to provide fresh impetus for the European programmes Horizon Europe and Erasmus+.

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is hosting the "European Forum on Science & Education for Sustainability 2020" (#EFSES2020) on 6 October 2020 as a highlight of the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The forum will be held in an interactive virtual format live from Berlin. It will focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to develop concrete proposals on how to shape an Innovative and Sustainable Europe through research and education.
