ERA-MIN Mid Term seminar call 2021 at @RawMaterials Week 2023

19/10/2023

Ensuring secure and sustainable supply chains for Europe’s green and digital transition is one of the major challenges of the future. This is why the Commission proposed the Critical Raw Materials Act, which sets clear priorities covering the whole supply chain, including extraction, processing and recycling.

In the ERA-MIN Mid Term seminar, 22 research projects funded under the ERA-MIN Joint Call 2021 will present their findings on how to increase the supply of raw materials by addressing topics along the entire raw materials value chain, from exploration to recycling. The presentations will be structured in the following thematic areas:

  • Exploration
  • Mining
  • Processing of ores and waste streams
  • Closing loops in industrial processes
  • Closing loops for end-of-life products
  • Closing loops for batteries
  • Enabling circular economy

The ERA-MIN Joint Call 2021 is the seventh call of the pan-European network ERA-MIN (https://www.era-min.eu/). As a result of this call, 22 projects are currently being funded with €20 million. Following the launch of the projects in spring 2022, most of the projects have reached the midterm point and will present their first results and their plans for the second half of the project at a mid-term seminar. The mid-term seminar will therefore be a unique opportunity to exchange views with experts from the raw materials sector in order to steer the project in the most beneficial direction.
