The outcomes of the HLW discussions will increase the understanding and sharing of strategies and policies related to international research collaboration between European, African and Latin American scientific organisations. This HLW aims at enhancing dialogue between Science Europe Member Organisations, ministerial representatives, and representatives of research funding and performing organisations from Europe, Africa and Latin America. The discussions will be useful to improve policies framing the conduct and dissemination of research activities, funding instruments and mobility programmes for international research collaboration.
Moreover, the High Level Workshop is part of the contributions of Science Europe to the ERA Policy Agenda 2022–2024, and in particular Action 9 to “promote a positive environment and level playing field for international cooperation based on reciprocity.” Discussions on the implementation of the policy agenda will take place in the ERA Forum.

Satellite Event

With the aim of contributing to the HLW discussions, a satellite event will take place on the afternoon of the 30th of November.
This satellite event will consist of two discussion panels, one on the subject Cultural and Natural Heritage and the other on Sustainable Value-Chains in New Materials. During these panels, CSIC researchers and their counterparts from Africa and Latin America will share their scientific cooperation experiences, lessons learnt, and recommendations to enhance international research collaboration.
In addition to participating in those panels, and listening to two keynote speakers, attendees will also be able to contact additional researchers during a poster session aimed at promoting networking among all participants.
