MOSTMEG Project will organize a Dissemination Seminar next 9th and 10th of February 2024

Join us for a two-day exploration into the latest findings of the MOSTMEG project, an initiative under ERA-MIN 2. The seminar, scheduled for February 9-10, 2024, will feature in-depth discussions on the Góis-Panasqueira-Argemela-Segura strip, new data on selected mineralizing systems, and predictive models for strategic metal-rich, granite-related ore systems.

Day 1 kicks off with an overview of the MOSTMEG project, followed by discussions on harmonized lithostratigraphy, geochemical and mineralogical features, and geochronology of granite suites. The day concludes with insights into mineralogical variations in contact metamorphic haloes and the relevance of mapping regional shear zones.

Day 2 is dedicated to relevant mineral and geochemical fingerprints/footprints to ore-forming systems, exploring topics such as alluvial heavy minerals in granite-related mineral systems, compositional variations in TiO2 polymorphs and tourmaline, and trace element analysis of cassiterite. The afternoon sessions are focused on practical tools and methods transferable to exploration surveys, covering heavy minerals concentrates, μXRF for textural and mineral arrangements, and the advantages of the mineral-system approach.
