In the raw materials market, Europe consumes about 10% of global raw materials and is a major importer. Nevertheless, the majority of raw materials are traded on global exchanges in US dollars.

The European Commission has launched the Consultation on the role of the euro in non-energy non-agricultural raw materials (metals and minerals) in order to explore with stakeholders how to increase the role of the € in this area. The link to access the online survey is available here.
