The MINATURA2020 project (February 2015 – January 2018) is a Horizon 2020 Coordination and Support Action that aims to develop a concept and methodology for the definition and subsequent protection of “mineral deposits of public importance” in order to ensure their “best use” in the future.

The project has launched the MINATURA 2020 Council of Stakeholders whose objective is to provide a forum for discussion about "mineral deposits of public importance" beyond the frame of the national workshops organised all over Europe.
